Canadian Rockies Four - Bannf Gondola

Part of our Rockies tour was a trip up to the top of Sulphur Mountain on the gondola. The view was great, but personally I found the ride up quite terrifying, and the air at the top of the mountain was extremely thin, leaving me breathless (although the anxiety played a large part in that)
Still, the view was fantastic - I just wish that there was a faster and less claustrophobic way to get there!

Emerald Lake is one of the most peaceful beautiful places you've ever seen in your life. The lake was just starting to thaw when we visited, and we were all fascinated by the leafy crystalline patterns in the ice, and how green the water is where it had thawed out already.

wow Kajikit these are beautiful pictures Fri 7-Nov-2003 00:32

These photos were taken on a snocoach ride up the Columbia Glacier. Because it was very early in the Spring and the glacier was covered in snow it wasn't possible to walk outside a very limited area, and the scraped snowbanks in several pics show the boundaries of the 'safe' zone.

The second set of photos are taken at Lake Louise.

didn't know you were in canada ,. I am too.
Nova scotia that is, its very beautiful here.

You made great pictures sweetie, these were great to look at! And awww the big kitties you took pictures of. Oh did you ever get to go into a special zone in a zoo where you can go into the place where they keep animals like lions and tigers and stuffs like that ? We did when I was a kiddie and it was amazing....even though they had to put one of the lions to sleep cos he was messing with the car....kinda put its littly paw on the car....and was just licking the windows......it was good to get so close to them....but so very scary too, I tell ya! Well take care sweetie ! Thanks for your comments in my diary and fotopage. Take care! Lots of Friendship Love and Hugs! Angelxxx Tue 4-Nov-2003 12:26

Here's some more pics of my stuff. I haven't photographed my engagement ring proper yet, but I will ASAP.

Funny story about the dragon - I went into a gift shop one day and they had a whole rack of dragons by the front door, mostly acrylic but with a few glass and/or metal ones among them. I picked up a dragon snowglobe to check the price because I wanted to buy the cheapest dragon in the shop, and oops... SMASH! It slipped through my fingers to the floor, leaving me feeling incredibly embarassed... Fortunately the girl at the counter was very nice and didn't ask me to pay for it... but I was so embarassed that I grabbed the first dragon at hand and said 'I'll have that one please'. The dragon turned out to cost $30AU (twice as much as the snowglobe that I'd broken!) But I love it so it wasn't a waste of money...

Thanx for the posts, you have some great pictures here Mon 3-Nov-2003 08:05

There's this wonderful museum in Vancouver where they have an open research collection of anthropological artifacts and you can go there and browse through the cases and cabinets and shelves of goodies, all sorted according to origin and type. There are also several galleries of Inuit art and local indian artifacts.
